Simple Sew Skater Dress
It’s half term here so I managed to make myself a lovely new dress. One of the great things about everyone knowing you love to sew is if they see any fabric they donate it ! Julie at school found me some gorgeous fabric to make my dress.

I chose the pattern as Elizabeth – one of my followers asked me how to add the bodice to the skirt after she saw my previous Skater Dress and The York
So hopefully this will show her how I did it.
Make the bodice and sew at shoulder seams.

Once I had made sure the bodice and skirt were exactly the same size I pinned then and then sewed them together. Once I had done this to the front and the back I sewed the side seams. I changed the pattern slightly as the Skater has a low back so I made mine higher and used a 7inch side zip.
This week my friend’s mum celebrated her 70th birthday and she too is called Elizabeth so it seemed an appropriate name for my dress.
The Blog Manager was happy to take some arty shots today inside because the dress actually matches my living room!!!! How cool is that!?!

The best art shot was copying my gorgeous 1920s figurine..
