Well, I have to tell you I have had the laziest sewing Summer ever! Instead it seems to be a Summer of meet-ups, Game of Thrones (just  been addicted to my son’s series 1-4 dvd collection!) , 10,000 steps and coffee and cake!

So, not really a sewn item theme post this week, just related to it!

Since I became a White Tree Fabrics blogger I have become really good friends with Lisa who is responsible for the Bloggers! We often start the week with a catch up email especially about her gorgeous two year old!

I had the ideal opportunity to meet her last week on the way back from my brothers in London. So with a little planning we actually got to meet .

Blog Manager was very concerned that we were meeting someone from the internet but just as I thought it was like I had known her all my life!
Lisa had a bag of goodies waiting for me and also some fabric and a pattern I had ordered the week before. I wore The Leeds Lace to prove to Lisa her fabric is well sewn!

WT have got lots of Indy patterns on their site now but I have always wanted to make a shirt dress in some world map fabric. So I bought the Sew Over it shirt dress and collected it from Lisa, she has to hunt down the fabric now!!

Yesterday I met up with Neela 🐝 from Sew Fusion and Ali from Thimberlina.

We met at Neela’s parents house with the promise of a vegetarian curry and a trip to Bombay Stores.

Neela is the best cook ever! We watched her making lunch and although we did keep offering to help(!) it was better for Ali and I just to catch up on the gossip and watch Neela at work! We also admired our sewing ! I wore The Roman Holiday Skirt, Ali wore her new culottes and Neela her self drafted cross over back top.

So….. the visit to Bombay Stores….how would I describe it…….glittery! Everywhere I looked it was sparkling! The shoes, buttons, trims, jewellery and the Saris!! They were just beautiful! Ali was on a look out for making Mexican ponchos for a fancy dress party, Neela was in her element as the shop is full of ‘her colour’ and I bought myself a sari pack which cost only £5 and came with three types of fabric. I’d like to sew a blouse which will show off the embroidery.

The photo really does not do justice to the shimmering!

Hopefully, I will have some ‘sewjo’ back soon, Neela bought me some beautiful red fabric too so maybe that will spur me on too!
